EXTENDED
FAMILIES

All the people you love, in one frame.

Because getting everyone together is rare
…and absolutely worth remembering.

Extended family sessions are about more than a “big group photo.”
They’re about capturing something that doesn’t happen often — everyone together, in the same place, at the same time, exactly as you are right now.

We all think we’ll gather more. That there will be another holiday, another vacation, another year when schedules magically line up. But life gets busy. People live in different cities. Kids grow. Seasons change.

That’s why these sessions matter so much.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens during an extended family session? We’ll start with the full group photo right away while everyone is fresh and focused. Once we have that hero image, we move through smaller groupings — individual nuclear families, grandparents with grandkids, couples, siblings, and any meaningful combinations within your family. I’ll guide the flow so nothing feels chaotic and nothing important gets missed.

How long does an extended family session last? Most extended family sessions last 45 minutes to about an hour, with a little flexibility if needed. That’s plenty of time to capture the full group and all the smaller combinations without feeling rushed. If young kids need breaks or the group needs a moment to reset, we build that in naturally.

Do we need to manage or organize the session ourselves? No — that’s my job. I’ll direct the session, help organize groupings, and keep things moving in a relaxed way. Your only responsibility is to show up and enjoy being together. I’ll take care of the rest.

What should everyone wear? You don’t need to match exactly. I recommend choosing two main colors and one neutral (like gray, khaki, or black) and having everyone dress within that palette. This keeps the group looking coordinated while still letting each family member’s personality come through. I'll send you lots of tips ahead of time, and I’m always happy to help review outfit ideas.
