If you’ve ever wondered what a Charleston branding photography session can really look like outside of a studio… this is it.
When I started planning this session with Amy from Amy Time, we knew one thing right away, we didn’t want anything that felt overly styled or forced. We wanted her photos to feel grounded, natural, and aligned with the experience she creates for her clients. And the new American Gardens in downtown Charleston gave us exactly that.

🌱 A Branding Session Rooted in Strategy and Storytelling
Amy is a Pinterest expert who helps established brands turn their content into something that actually works for them long after it’s posted.
As she says it best, she helps brands“turn pins into consistent website traffic and visibility through strategic Pinterest marketing, so you can stay focused on running your business while your content works behind the scenes.”
So when we started planning her personal branding photography session in Charleston, we weren’t just thinking about pretty photos. We were thinking about how her images would function inside her marketing.
That meant every decision had intention behind it.
🌿 Why We Chose Green and Brown Tones for Her Branding Photos
Before her session, Amy and I talked through the feeling she wanted her brand to communicate.
Grounded. Rooted. Calm. Strategic.
We leaned into greens and browns because those colors naturally reflect stability and growth. And for someone who helps businesses build long-term visibility through Pinterest, that connection just made sense.
The result is a set of Charleston branding photos that don’t just look beautiful. They feel aligned with the experience she offers her clients.

📸 Creating Cohesive Branding Photos That Actually Work Together
One of the biggest goals for this session was making sure these new images would blend seamlessly with Amy’s previous branding photos.
This is something I talk about often as a Charleston branding photographer. Your photos are not meant to live in isolation. They should work together across your website, your Pinterest boards, your email marketing, and your social media.
Because we spent time before the session talking through her existing visuals and future needs, we were able to:
Match tones and overall aesthetic
Create variety without feeling disconnected
Capture images that she can use across multiple platforms
This is the difference between just taking photos and building a strategic branding gallery.

✨ Letting Personality Lead the Session
Here’s the part that matters just as much as the strategy.
Amy is genuinely one of those people who is just easy to be around. The kind of person you immediately feel comfortable with.
So instead of forcing poses or over-directing, we spent most of her session walking through the gardens, laughing, and finding little pockets of light and texture that felt right.
That energy shows up in her photos.
And that’s the goal with every personal branding session in Charleston I photograph. I want your clients to look at your images and feel like they already know you.
🌿 Why Outdoor Branding Sessions in Charleston Work So Well
Charleston is full of locations that naturally elevate your brand without needing a ton of props or setup.
Places like American Gardens give you:
Natural textures and colors
Variety within a single location
A relaxed environment that helps you feel more like yourself
For brands like Amy’s, where connection and trust matter, an outdoor branding session in Charleston can be the perfect fit.

📍 Planning Your Own Charleston Branding Photography Session
If you’re a business owner who is ready for photos that actually support your marketing, not just sit in a folder, this is exactly the kind of session we would plan together.
We’ll talk through:
How you use your content (Pinterest, website, social media)
What your brand needs to communicate visually
The locations, colors, and feeling that will support that
Because your photos should do more than look good. They should work for you.
