Family sessions aren’t about perfect behavior or everyone smiling at the same time.
They’re about capturing the personalities, the relationships, and the little moments that make your family feel like yours.
Whether we’re at the beach, a park, or right at home — there’s never a wrong choice. The location simply becomes the backdrop for what matters most: the way you connect, laugh, cuddle, and exist together in this season of life.
We'll capture the standing together and smiling at the camera photo, (because Grandma needs a copy of that one) but we'll focus on capturing all those in-between moments that really show off your family love.
My goal in every session is to quickly get to know your family — how everyone fits together, who needs extra space, who thrives on attention, and who might need a little warm-up time. And once we’re together, you don’t need to worry about managing the moment. That’s my job.

What is a family photo session like? Family sessions are a mix of gentle guidance and natural interaction. We’ll start with a few more structured groupings to make sure we get the classic family photo, then loosen things up with movement, conversation, and play. My goal is to capture personalities — not just poses — so your images feel like you, not a performance.
What if my kids don’t cooperate or have short attention spans? That’s completely expected. The youngest (or most reluctant) family member usually sets the pace, and we plan around that. We’ll work efficiently, take breaks when needed, and keep things moving so kids don’t feel stuck in one spot. I have plenty of tricks to keep things light, relaxed, and fun — and if we need to pivot, we do.
What should we wear? You don’t need to have it all figured out — styling support is included. You’ll receive resources before your session to help you choose colors and outfits that photograph beautifully in your chosen location. And if you’re unsure, you’re always welcome to send photos or questions. I’m happy to help you narrow things down so everyone feels comfortable and confident.
How do we make sure we get the photos we really want? Before your session, you’ll receive a questionnaire where you can share anything important — specific groupings, must-have shots, or how you hope to use your photos (wall art, gifts, albums). Once I have that information, I'll have a better idea of the personalities in your family and will be ready with some fun ways to keep everyone engaged and happy.
