And that’s exactly why the photos feel so good.
As someone who spends a lot of time out here, I’ve learned how to lean into what Folly gives us instead of trying to control it.

I hear this all the time.
And I get it. Sunset sessions sound beautiful in theory… but real life with kids is a different story.
But here’s the thing about Folly Beach sessions.
The beach does half the work for us.
Kids are:
Busy exploring
Running, playing, splashing
Completely distracted in the best way
They’re not standing still thinking about whether they should smile.
They’re just being themselves.
And I’ve spent enough time photographing families (and raising my own kids) to know how to move with that energy instead of fighting it.
